Sliced To Dutch – Your Oldtimer Artwork …. A slice of passion with a Dutch Edge.
More than Eighteen years ago Marx de Gijzel started his Classic Citroën Garage in The Hague NL called Citrogyz.
Working everyday with those great classics inspired him to do something different! It could be in the genes being a son of a visual artist.
2015/2016 Marx worked with Arno Muilwijk to create the 3D Iconic artworks. Stainless steel and brass and lots of thoughts about the height measurements and looks like the gift box etc. etc. … it took some time.
Since the end of 2018 we decided to go on without Arno Muilwijk. He found a new challenge in his range of work.
The process
It all starts with a well-known oldtimer to translate it with a computer model to a handwritten design per part/slice for the computerized water cutter machine. The slices will be cut out under high pressure (water with a grain of sand) from the stainless steel plate. The slices sometimes get polished if needed on the edges and then they will we glued into a rail. This rail will be fixed into the plate about 2 cm above the burned granite footplate. All together it is your Oldtimer Art model with a Dutch Edge.
The stainless steel artwork can also be displayed in your garden. The stainless material is high quality and its footplate is burned granite. It is and it remains beautiful. The brass collection is an indoor artwork.
The numbered artwork comes along with a certificate and a handmade box. It took some time but we are proud to share this great piece with you and the rest of the oldtimer loving world.
The artworks we now have in our collection are Citroën DS 3rd nose, Jaguar D-Type and E-Type, the Porsche 911 and the Aston Martin DB5 (1964) and the Ferrari 330 P40.
In August ’17 we released the Chevrolet Corvette C3 – the Citroën SM and Jaguar MKII.
